Lagoons are legal in this part of the country and work extremely well, no smell, and no problems with anything backing up like with a septic system. Pond is Spring fed and normally pretty clear, but I took this picture just after a hard rain so it appears cloudy from the run off.

You can't appreciate how big these trees from pictures and you need to experience the peaceful feel here for yourself.

The mound to the left is a root cellar, it is open but in excellent shape and mostly importantly it is dry inside. Put and heavy duty door on it and you would have a nice root cellar and a storm cellar a few steps out your back door.
I love this - It is a stacked rock incinerator so you have a safe place to burn house garbage. One side has stacked bricks so you can easily shovel out the ashes at ground level.
